Sculptra Butt Lift
If you want to target specific areas of your body to enhance its appearance, dieting and exercise may not be enough. You may find it frustrating and time-consuming to add muscle mass in your buttocks through squats and lunges. Dieting and exercise may not effectively eliminate cellulite, stretch marks and fine lines or wrinkles from your buttocks. A non-surgical cosmetic procedure known as the Sculptra butt lift can bring contour and proportion to your backside to help you feel more confident. Here is everything you need to know about the Sculptra butt lift (BBL) to enhance your appearance.
What is Sculptra?
A Sculptra butt lift uses an FDA-approved dermal filler to stimulate collagen production and thicken skin through injections. This dermal filler was originally used to help patients restore their facial structure as a result of illness and aging. The poly-L-lactic acid filler is currently used to create fullness in buttocks with a flat appearance. It can also accentuate your appearance by reducing cellulite and fine lines or wrinkles.
The Sculptra BBL procedure takes less than an hour and uses a local anesthetic. Multiple injections may be necessary to achieve the desired results. It is recommended to have at least three injections over a period of a few months. Results are noticeable gradually over time and can last for two to four years. Touch-ups can be done any time after the initial treatment to help retain shape in the buttocks.
Sculptra Butt Lift Recovery
You can resume normal activities immediately after treatment. You may experience mild redness and swelling at the injection site for the first week. Any discomfort can be relieved with ice packs and over-the-counter pain medications. You may need to avoid exercise for a week to achieve optimal results, as it can interfere with the dermal filler.
Patients are instructed to massage their bottoms five times a day for five minutes for five days. This helps spread the Sculptra injection evenly throughout the tissues in the buttocks. Unlike a Brazilian butt lift, there is no medical rest required with a Sculptra butt lift. With Brazilian butt lift surgery, patients cannot sit on their buttocks for at least six to eight weeks without the use of an assistive device. This can make a Sculptra butt lift more desirable as the recovery period is far shorter, with minimal aftercare and discomfort.
Ideal Sculptra Butt Lift Candidates
The Sculptra BBL is designed for individuals with flat buttocks who do not have enough excess fat for a fat transfer. Due to aging or weight loss, you may experience sagging or cellulite on your backside. The Sculptra butt lift helps lift and firm the buttocks to restore curves for a more youthful appearance. Sculptra is not designed to help remove unwanted fat in areas of the buttocks.
Ideal candidates are in good health and maintain a stable weight. Persons with an autoimmune disorder may not be a good fit for these injection treatments. A consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon can determine if you are medically healthy for the Sculptra BBL treatment. Any risks or complications can be fully discussed during this time.
